Student Dress Code Policy

Purpose

This policy is intended to promote school safety, self-discipline, responsibilty and good grooming habits; to enhance the learning environment by helpind students concentrate on thier school work; and to ensure that students are safely and appropiately dressed for school activities. This policy is not intended to prohibit the student' rights to express themselves, nor to violate any anti-discrimantory laws.
 
Policy
 
While in school, students, shall wear clothing that meets the following standards:
  • No hats, bandanas, do-rags or scarves
  • No bare backs shall be exposed
  • No low cut shirts/blouses that expose cleavage
  • No bare midriffs (must be  able to tuck in shirts or blouses)
  • No bare feet or unsafe footwear
  • No clothing that uses see through material
  • No clothing that displays words (in whatever language), graphics that are obscene, improper, vulgar,violent, sexist, racist, and/or promote the use of illegal drugs/alcohol/tobacco.
  • No gang, violent, or cult-related apparel.
  • No droopy/baggy pants or clohthing that reveals undergarments.
  • No writing on pants larger than two inches.
  • The length of shorts and skirts must be longer than the tip of the student's fingers when his/her extended arm is by his/her side
  • Student's shoes wiht laces must be laced and tied at all times.
  • All students are required to wear their IDs at all times during regular school hours.

Discipline

The school leader shall have the discretion to render judgements regarding what is and what is not a violation of this Policy, or if neccessary waive these polcy restrictions in religious, political and/or medical situations. Students who violate this policy may face discipline up to and including expulsion
